The English Department proposes that from an early age every student is impacted with this second language. Offering classes from CENDI to sixth grade. The student will show overall improvement in their English proficiencies. Use English to communicate in social settings, obtain, process, construct, and provide subject matter information in spoken and written form. Students will enhance a Spoken Vocabulary, a Listening Vocabulary, a Reading Vocabulary, and a Writing Vocabulary. Students will gain confidence in their ability to speak and write English accurately.
GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Provide our students with learning experiences that motivate and empower the student to communicate in English verbally and in written form.
WRITTEN SKILLS PRIORITIES
Provide the students a CLIL (Content Integrated Language Learning) curriculum where they will learn to communicate in a variety of forms, through the application of the writing process, proper grammar, age appropriate vocabulary and organization skills.
READING COMPREHENSION PRIORITIES
Using CLIL (Content Integrated Language Learning) as a way to teach content through language. Help students to analyze and think critically with understanding and confidence, to construct meaning and develop appreciation of a variety of genres.
